The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce the launch of its “GWP Caribbean” App, which is available for download now in Google Play and the App Store.
Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) together with GWP, UNICEF and WaterAid are co-convening a 3-part webinar series to strengthen partners’ knowledge of and capacity to integrate water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and climate policies, plans, action, and financing. The events are scheduled for 13, 20 and 29 April. Recordings of the events are available after the event.
Operated by the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, the Funding Matchmaking Initiative aims to match country-defined priorities for water management improvements which are lacking financing or only have partial funding, with local funding sources, external donors and other funding agencies that have available financing but which are not currently investing in water management at the scale required or in the most coordinated manner.
An online consultation on the Nexus in Albania held online on 14 December brought together more than 50 stakeholders and experts to discuss how to overcome barriers and coordinate actions to apply the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus approach, achieving cross-sectoral benefits for all. The meeting, which gathered representatives from key institutions from related sectors, was convened by GWP-Med and UNECE in the frame of the SEE Nexus project, which is supported by the Austrian Development Agency.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) had to be postponed until June 2021, but to make up for the postponement, organisers decided to add a 2-day online event, SIWW Online, on 18-19 November 2020.
A national consultation meeting in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held online on December 22, to discuss national perspectives and priorities on how to coordinate and advance cross-sectoral actions regarding the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems Nexus approach in the Drina river basin.
