The aim of the Support Package is to explain how the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme can assist the facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes aiming to update the SDG 6.5.1 survey, providing tools and guidance to that effect.

On 29 November 2019, His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, former President of Tanzania, officially took over the Chairmanship of Global Water Partnership Southern Africa and Africa Coordination Unit (GWPSA-ACU).
GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. After taking part in the GWPO Working in Virtual Environment Training (WiVe) ahead of the Virtual Regional Days 2020 , Global Water Partnership Central Africa (GWP-CAf) decided to share the knowledge acquired during this training with all Country Water Partnerships within its network.
Since inception in 2018, #TonFuturTonClimat has been implemented in Togo through the Youth Support Project for the Protection of the Environment, Water and Soil (PAJPEES) in Danyi-Apéyémé.
