Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) Secretariat team will be participating in the 10th World Water Forum, set to take place in Bali, Indonesia, from May 18-24, 2024. This prestigious event, the world's largest of its kind, will bring together water experts, policymakers, and stakeholders from around the globe to discuss and address the critical water issues facing our world today.
After a long period of inactivity, marked in particular by the failure to hold statutory meetings of the Permanent Framework for the Consultation and Monitoring (PFCM) bodies for nearly a decade, a revitalisation of the regional IWRM process in West Africa has been underway since 2024, notably with the organisation of the 11th Ordinary Session of the Technical Experts Committee (TEC) and the 5th Ordinary Session of the Ministerial Monitoring Committee (MCC), which were held in Abuja from 21 to 24 June 2024.
The 3rd WEFE Inter-ministerial Group meeting led by the Ministry of Energy and Water, Lebanon and facilitated by GWP-Med under the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme addressed the issue of water data availability and gaps, marking a step forward towards cross-institutional collaboration, essential for integrated natural resources management.

On 2 April 2025, the first of a series of webinars under the DANURELY-WS (Danube Youth Leadership for Water Security) project took place. The African Union Commission, in partnership with the Global Water Partnership Africa, is fast-tracking climate finance readiness across the continent through the AU-AIP GCF Readiness Support Initiative, now being implemented in 15 AU Member States. Over recent months, the initiative has recorded tangible milestones that demonstrate growing institutional capacity, stronger investment preparation, and Africa’s readiness to absorb and deploy climate finance at scale.
The Mono Basin Authority (MBA) held the sixth (6th) ordinary session of its Council of Ministers on January 26, 2024 in Lomé, Togo. This meeting was preceded by the meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts (CTE) from January 22 to 25.
