GWP’s VISION is a water secure world. Our MISSION is to advance governance and management of water resources for sustainable and equitable development.

OUR UNIQUE VALUE: GWP mobilises action on the global water crisis through a unique combination of social capital, shared values, credibility within the global water community, bottom-up orientation, and expertise. A network of networks, we ensure the ‘voices of water’ can inﬂuence local, national, regional, and global development priorities. GWP Regions

GWP Kicks Off GCF Readiness Workshops

GWP kicked off its first GCF Readiness workshop for 2020 – one of 30 being planned for this year – on July 28-29, in Uganda. The workshop, held at the request of the Government of Uganda’s Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE), trained participants on how to access support from the Green Climate Fund’s (GCF) Readiness and Preparatory Support Programme.

WACDEP-G is promoting Gender Transformative Approach in Benin

The Benin WACDEP-G team together with the CWP hold on 7 December 2021 a workshop to validate the report on the development of a shared vision on gender transformative approach in Benin. The event took place in Grand Popo with main partners including the Directorate general of environment and climate (DGEC), the FNEC, the NDA, focal points of various ministries, CSOs in gender promotion and consultants.

From November 29 to December 03 in Porto-Novo, Benin, the Country Water Partnership, and the WACDEP-G in Benin organized a national training workshop for key actors on how to access the GCF funding.

The right to safe water in Southeast Asia

The human right to safe water is fundamental to leading a life with dignity. It is indivisible from, and the foundation for, achieving many other internationally recognised human rights. Yet approximately 844 million people live without access to safe water worldwide. Around 110 million of those people live in Southeast Asia (hereafter ASEAN).

Conakry: A consultation on the priority issues of the water and sanitation sector

A consultation on priority issues in the water and sanitation sector was held on Friday 19 November in Conakry. Organized by the OECD Water-Sanitation Taskforce and the Arab Coordination Group (ACG), in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, Hydraulics and Hydrocarbons of Guinea, this meeting is a framework for stakeholders in the water and sanitation sector to express their views on the real issues and on the setting of several priorities in these areas.

Women at the forefront of the Sao Tome and Principe Water Sector Reform Program

(Ouagadougou, 7 April 2020) - The World is going through a serious health crisis linked to the spread of Covid 19. The pandemic is affecting almost all African countries, including the 15 West African States. Covid-19 could seriously affect the nations and populations of West Africa in their daily lives and economic activities given the fragility of health systems, informal economy and precarious urban systems.
