With the objective to transform gender inequalities, at scale by promoting gender-transformative planning, decision-making and institutional development for climate resilient water investments in Africa, the Cameroon Country Water Partnership (GWP-Cmr) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy (MINEE) held a multi-sectoral workshop in Yaoundé on February 24th 2021, to officially launch the Africa Water Investment Program, Water, Climate, Development-Gender (AIP-WACDEP G) in Cameroon.

The 5th UN Special Thematic Session on Water and Disasters takes place on 25 June. The event is a high-level global event around the issue of water and disasters, where representatives of member states and other stakeholders discuss the theme as a critical element of achieving sustainable development. GWP Chair Howard Bamsey will be one of the panelists in the closing session.
Back by popular demand, the Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance Train began its ‘Season 2’ in September 2021. This series of online engagement sessions follow a ‘train-like’ approach, stopping at various locations around the world and focusing on topics related to transboundary freshwater security. Each new stop explores a different topic from the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Governance for Transboundary Freshwater Security. The Transboundary Freshwater Security Governance Train continues its journey on 16 November, with a 9th interactive session in the series. The topic for this event is water diplomacy and negotiation in international water law. It is a jointly organized by GWP and Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI)/International Centre for Water Cooperation (ICWC).
The Central African Republic country water partnership (CWP-CAR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the country’s Ministry in Charge of Water to facilitate collaboration between the two parties, to jointly promote the development and management of water resources through planning for and implementation of IWRM in the country.
The Central Africa Republic Country Water Partnership (CWP Central Africa Republic) has designated a new Chair for its Technical and Scientific Committee.
