Online, Southeast Asia | November 4, 2025 - The Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) convened water leaders, practitioners, and partners from across the region for a virtual regional learning exchange on Policy to Practice: Regional Actions on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) also marked a milestone moment: the Regional Launch of the GWP Global Transformation Agenda 2026–2030, signalling stronger commitment to water governance, climate resilience, and long-term investment in the region.

As part of the project “Real-time Flood Risk Mapping” financed by the Adaptation Fund through the AFCIA program, two automatic multi-parameter stations were successfully installed in the rural commune of Koula from December 18 to 22, 2025.
Over 80 participants representing African Union Member States and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) have been trained in tracking and reporting water investments using the AIP-PIDA Water Investment Scorecard, a key tool under the African Union’s Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP).
The Global Water Partnership and the World Meteorological Organization on Thursday, 22 May 2025, hosted a High-Level Dialogue in the context of the G20 to serve as a foundational consultation toward the establishment of the Global Outlook Council on Water Investments. Global Water Partnership Southern Africa, which is the GWP Africa Hub, co-hosted the Dialogue.
The Regional Partners Technical Workshop for the preparation of the Initial Concept Note of the Regional Investment Project for Water Security and Climate Resilience in West Africa (AIP - ECOWAS) for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) was held from 17 to 20 September 2024 in Ouagadougou.
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) participated in the 8th International River and Environment Cooperation (REMCO) Conference, held in Maputo, Mozambique, from 3 to 7 November 2025. Convening more than 150 delegates from Mozambique, Eswatini, South Africa, the Netherlands, and Germany, the conference served as a critical platform for advancing collaborative strategies to strengthen transboundary water governance and climate resilience across the Incomati and Maputo River Basins.
