In the implementation process of the Multi Year Programme 4 (MYP), the Benin Country Water Partnership (CWP) and its partner, the Belgian NGO PROTOS welcome in Cotonou from 19 to 23 March a team of experts led by Jan Walravens of International Marine and Dredging Consultants (IMDC).

The triennial World Irrigation Forum (WIF) takes place 1-7 September in Bali, Indonesia. GWP South East Asia is participating in the event, and will launch the new 2020-2025 GWP Strategy, Mobilising for a Water Secure World.
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Central America is one of the most vulnerable regions. Effects are reflected in more intense, recurrent and prolonged hydrometeorological phenomena located at opposite ends of the same spectrum: floods and drought, and the Central American Dry Corridor (CSC) is one of those most affected. In addition, it is necessary to consider existing gaps in ecosystem protection, poor resilience of infrastructure and low territorial development. Panama is not part of the CSC, but one of its regions shares similar climatic characteristics - the dry arch of Panama.

Actions are taking to support governments and key institutions as they work towards building water security as part of better resilience to climate change. This included providing support to national adaptation planning, project preparation, investment planning and global policy process.
