COP29, the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference, will take place from 11–22 November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan. With a focus on driving global climate action, COP29 will highlight adaptation, resilience, and nature-based solutions and will mark the launch of the Baku Dialogue on Water for Climate Action.
The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce an extension for the submission of papers and posters for the upcoming Third Virtual Caribbean Science Symposium on Water (CSSW) scheduled for March 2025.
The 25th WaterNet/WARFSA/GWPSA Symposium will be held from 30th October to 1st November 2024, at Avani Maseru Hotel, Maseru, the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP SEA) was invited by WMO Regional Office Asia to attend The ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC) – WMO Regional Forum held in Singapore 4-6 September 2024.
On the occasion of the 10th Meeting of the Parties (MOP 10) to the Water Convention from 23 to 25 October 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA), the West African Economic and Monetary Union Commission (WAEMU), the Pôle Eau Dakar, Secretariat of the Water Convention and the United Nations Environment Programme - DHI Centre (UNEP-DHI), FAO co-organised a side event on the theme of ‘Implementing the Convention and promoting integrated water resources management through national and regional action’.

The article fails to take into account the major shift in development aid financing generally that has also affected GWP, and it does not report on the extensive development of programme and project financing that GWP has secured in recent years.
An article published in Svenska Dagbladet on 16 October presents several claims about the travel practices of GWP and its leadership that are misleading and do not accurately reflect the actual circumstances. This response aims to provide a clearer and more accurate picture.
