Two days training for the South Asian government counterparts on GIS and Remote Sensing technologies for mapping water storage

The fifth cohort meeting and the Progress Meeting of Bhutan of the Built Water Storage, South Asia project were held back-to-back from 27 to 30 August 2024 in Paro, Bhutan. The focuses of these gatherings were to present the Bhutan Cohort on the Policy and Institutional Study of Water Storage and Water Storage mapping on Bhutan and to provide hands-on experience for all the cohort members on the application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing technologies to map and assess water storage across diverse landscapes.

SADC and Partners to host will host the SADC Resource Mobilisation and Transboundary Water Investment Workshop

The Southern African Development Community (SADC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation of the Republic of Zambia, and with the support from the German government through the SADC GIZ Transboundary Water Management (TWM) project and the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), will host the SADC Resource Mobilisation and Transboundary Water Investment Workshop in Lusaka, Zambia from 24 to 25 July 2025.

GWP-WA: A 12th Assembly of Partners Focused on Water Governance and Transformation in West Africa

The West Africa Regional Water Partnership (GWP-WA) held its 12th Ordinary Assembly of Partners (AP) under the theme: “Supporting Water Valorization to Transform West Africa.” This strategic meeting, organized via videoconference, brought together 35 partners from public institutions, regional organizations, NGOs, the private sector, and technical and financial partners.
