Albania has made significant improvements in advancing the normative framework for gender equality in recent years. An online Technical Workshop on Gender Equality (GE) and Sustainable Development in Nexus attempted to discuss how gender is addressed in Nexus sectors’ strategies and policies and bring some concrete best practices on how gender issues can be addressed in development programmes.

In 2020 with the onset of the global COVID-19 Pandemic, the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) was motivated to find a novel and creative way of educating Caribbean kids about the critical value of water, the various water issues that occur throughout the Caribbean region and how they could be empowered to become Water ChangeMakers.
The Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) are a powerful framework for laying out priorities for national climate action, with the potential to guide priorities such as building climate resilience and climate-resilient infrastructure. They can be developed into country-level strategies and/or approaches for mobilising finance for climate resilient infrastructure programmes and projects and for enhancing the necessary policy and regulatory frameworks. The first window of opportunity ahead is the submission of new or updated NDCs in 2020.
GWP and the World Youth Parliament for Water (WYPW) collaborate on a storytelling initiative to make the voices of youth heard on water. The 11th Petersberg Climate Dialogue (PCD) is held as a video conference on 27 and 28 April. The United Kingdom, as President of the next Climate Change Conference (COP 26), co-chairs the PCD. The event focuses on sustainable recovery after the current health crisis.
