Bamako, December 15, 2025 – The conference hall of the National Directorate of Hydraulics (DNH) hosted on Monday the capacity-building workshop for national actors on the new flood forecasting and early warning platform, developed under the project “Real-time Mapping of Flood Risk in Mali” financed by the Adaptation Fund through the AFCIA program.
During the Horizon Europe SpongeWorks second General Assembly, participants were updated about the project's achievements, witnessed first hand the implementation of sponge measures in the French demonstrator and provided input on the way forward. GWP-Med received the Outreach and Impact award for its impactful communication of the project's activities.

Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, to replicate Africa’s proven model in other regions, momentum is now building for the USD 20 billion Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Water Investment Programme, set for launch in 2026.
