During the event, GWP-C reaffirmed its commitment to supporting regional efforts in sustainable water and land governance, particularly through its role in the implementation of the Caribbean Drought Initiative—one of the key undertakings of the regional Inter-Governmental Organisation, which recently signed a Headquarter Agreement with the Government of Grenada.

The High-Level Meeting on Accelerating Investments in the Water Sector in Mali concluded successfully, marking a significant step forward in mobilizing resources and partners to strengthen the country’s climate resilience and water security.
The Regional Partners Technical Workshop for the preparation of the Initial Concept Note of the Regional Investment Project for Water Security and Climate Resilience in West Africa (AIP - ECOWAS) for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) was held from 17 to 20 September 2024 in Ouagadougou.

On 22 August 2025, a groundbreaking pilot project was launched with the mission to accelerate the protection and restoration of freshwater ecosystems across Pakistan. Just days later, momentum continued in Islamabad with the first Country Stakeholder Workshop, held on 2 September.
The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) played a key role in the Drought Resilience +10 Conference held from 30 September to 2 October 2024 in Geneva. Building on the outcomes of the first High-Level Meeting on National Drought Policies in 2013, the conference focused on accelerating actions to build drought resilience worldwide. It gathered countries, experts, and practitioners to review progress in drought management and outline a collective path forward.
Two representatives from the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean, joined the vibrant SIDS4 Conference in Antigua and Barbuda from May 27-30th, at the American University of Antigua (AUA). GWP-C’s team of Regional Coordinator Ms. Simone Lewis and Mr. Kerron Martinez, engaged actively throughout the conference advancing our mission of promoting sustainable water management practices with the context of Small Island Developing States.
