Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) strategies and actions specially designed for the current pandemic situation will protect disaster-affected areas from becoming epicenters of pandemic explosion and assist with swift recovery from disasters.
On 1 July 2020, an Online Consultation Meeting is being held on the Wastewater Management Decision Support Tool (WEMDST), a Pilot project in the Frame of the GEF Drin Project.

The final Lake Ohrid Watershed Management Plan was deliberated at the bilateral Lake Ohrid Watershed Committee, consisting of political representatives from Albania and North Macedonia, with a view to next steps towards its implementation.
GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25. The International Symposium on “Water and Culture: Learning from Water Heritage to Innovate Regional Development” was held on 3 February in Tokyo, Japan. The aim was to achieve a deeper understanding of relations between people and water by visiting water heritage around the world. About 260 people from 43 countries participated, among those GWP Chair Howard Bamsey and GWP Technical Committee Chair Jerome Delli Priscoli. Dr. Delli Priscoli shared reflections from the U.S. experience on water resources.

In order to contribute to the reflections towards the adoption legal basis for the establishment and composition of Local Water Committees (LWCs) which are local body for water resource management in a river basin, CWP-Benin in collaboration with the General Directorate for Water (DGEau), organized on 28 and 29 January 2020 a workshop for exchanges on the establishment of Local Water Committees.
