The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) has extended its World Water Day (WWD) 2019: Caribbean 1-Minute Video Challenge to March 20th, 2019. This means that there is still time to enter for a chance to 1 of 4 prizes.
The Zambezi Watercourse Commission (ZAMCOM) in collaboration with its partners, will hold this year’s annual Zambezi Basin-wide Stakeholders Forum from 8-9 October in Lilongwe, Malawi. The Basin-wide Stakeholders Forum brings together those with an interest in the Zambezi River Basin to share information and experiences around a selected theme.
CWP Guinea organized a conference on IWRM on February 4, 2019 at Mahatma Gandhi University to raise awareness among students on this approach to manage sustainably water resources.
The training workshops on ''Ecosystem planning and management for climate change adaptation in the Volta Basin'' were organized for Togo in Kara, from 11 to 15 June 2019 and for Côte d’Ivoire in Bondoukou, from 17 to 21 June 2019.
Chad's Country Water Partnership was established in October 2017. Its mission is to support the Chadian government in the sustainable management of water resources and to contribute to promoting sustainable development through integrated water resources management in Chad, particularly at the country and river basin levels.
The Malian Minister of Energy and Water, Malick Alhousseïni, presided over the opening ceremony of the Steering Committee of the Joint Water Resources Management Support Programme (PCA-GIRE) met on May 31st in Bamako. In attendance was also the Swedish Ambassador, the representative of the Dutch Embassy and the Chair of CWP-Mali.
The project titled "Integrating Flood and Drought Management and Early Warning for Climate Change Adaptation in the Volta Basin’’, for which the development process started in 2015 and received great support and contributions from Volta Basin Authority Executive Secretariat and institutions from the six Volta Basin riparian countries, has been approved for funding from the Adaptation Fund during the 23rd meeting of the Project and Program Evaluation Committee (PPRC) of the Fund held from 9 to 11 October, 2018 in Bonn, Germany.
