The Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean is seeking to hire a Senior Programme Officer. The successful candidate will be hired by the Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE), a civil non-profit society based in Greece, in its capacity as Host Institute for GWP-Med.
Four concept notes that would ultimately be developed into full proposals were chosen during the second round of screening of the South Asia Youth Water Challenge 2023, which was held on 28 June 2023.
In line with Article VI of its Constitution, the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) convened its 15th Consulting Partners (CP) Meeting on 20 June 2025. While Bamako, the capital of Mali, is being hit hard by flooding, a workshop is being held on the subject of real-time mapping of the risk of flooding in Mali on the basis of rainfall forecasts, remote sensing and deep learning (AFCIA-Mali Project).
The Ministry of Development, Energy, and Water Resources, with the support of the GWP-Central African Republic Country Office, organized the national launch of the “National Response Strategy for Resilient Water Resource Management in the Central African Republic.” The significant event, which was held on December 20, 2024, at the Oubangui hotel, brought together some one hundred participants representing ministries, technical and financial partners, NGOs, and members of GWL thematic working groups.
Following Mali and Benin, Côte d'Ivoire has established its National Coordination of Users of Natural Resources in the Volta Basin (CNU). The event took place on 25 July 2025 at the end of a national workshop held in Bouna in the Bounkani region within the national portion of the basin in Côte d'Ivoire.
