In Benin stakeholders agree to set up Local Water Committees (LWC) on consensual bases

In order to contribute to the reflections towards the adoption legal basis for the establishment and composition of Local Water Committees (LWCs) which are local body for water resource management in a river basin, CWP-Benin in collaboration with the General Directorate for Water (DGEau), organized on 28 and 29 January 2020 a workshop for exchanges on the establishment of Local Water Committees.

SADC convenes Gender Clinic on Project Preparation and Financing

On 25 March 2019, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) convened a Gender Mainstreaming in the Water Sector Project Preparation and Financing Clinic in Johannesburg, South Africa. The workshop, organised with support from the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), brought together financiers, project developers/promoters, project implementers, gender focal points and gender machinery from the 16 SADC countries to discuss practical issues with regards to gender mainstreaming during project preparation and mobilising financing processes.

GWP at World Water Forum 8

The GWP network used the 8th World Water Forum, the world's largest water-related event, to demonstrate the impact of its multi-stakeholder partnership on improving the way the world manages its water resources. GWP was involved in over 40 events during the week and many network Partners were present, as well as representatives of the global office and the GWP regions.

Evaluation of causes of a massive land subsidence and ef-fectiveness of measures to control of them in Jakarta and other cities

Jakarta, 27 November 2018 -- A discussion to evaluate the cause of land subsidence in Jakarta was held in the Ministry of Public Works, Republic of Indonesia premises. Several experts from various technical background were presented their findings.
