The Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean is seeking to hire a Gender Programme Officer. The successful candidate will be hired by MIO-ECSDE, a civil non-profit society based in Greece, in its capacity as Host Institute for GWP-Med.

Under the patronage of Cabo Verde, in collaboration with Italy and FAO, WASAG announces its 1st International Forum on Water Scarcity in Agriculture to be held in Praia, Cabo Verde on 19-22 March, to coincide with the celebrations of the World Water Day 2019 which this year adopts the theme of ‘Leaving no one behind’.

With the objective to transform gender inequalities, at scale by promoting gender-transformative planning, decision-making and institutional development for climate resilient water investments in Africa, the Cameroon Country Water Partnership (GWP-Cmr) in collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy (MINEE) held a multi-sectoral workshop in Yaoundé on February 24th 2021, to officially launch the Africa Water Investment Program, Water, Climate, Development-Gender (AIP-WACDEP G) in Cameroon.

MAIGA and the Executive Secretary, Mr. Armand HOUANYE visited Senegal from 16 to 21 Novembre 2020 to support the Country Water Partnership (CWP) that is engaging new actions for a renewed dynamism. Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe develops a Guide on How to Communicate Drought within its Integrated Drought Management Programme in Central and Eastern Europe, which aims to enhance the communication between water professionals and media expert about the issue of drought.

The Tisza Office of the Middle Tisza Water Directorate (KÖTIVIZIG) was ceremonially inaugurated on 4 November 2014. Five countries are represented under its mandate: Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary and Serbia. The Tisza Office team - consisting of Judit Palatinus, Melinda Váci and György Rátfai - present the scope of their work and collaboration with GWP.

The SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme, coordinated by GWP in collaboration with the UN Environment-DHI Centre and UNDP Cap-Net, has facilitated a coordinated approach to monitoring and enhancing Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6.5, implementing Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). In 2019 four pilot countries were supported to create an IWRM Action Plan. Some lessons on how the experience gained can be put to practical use in other countries have now been captured in a summary report.

GWP is collaborating with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) secretariat and other partners to create a vision and plausible water solutions of a desirable climate-resilient future in 2030 and beyond. The new initiative is called "Water Resilience Frontiers: Pathways for transformational Climate Resilient Water Security in 2030 and Beyond". The initiative is part of the UNFCCC Nairobi Work Programme’s Resilience Frontiers. The UNFCCC is convening a Resilience Lab for the duration of COP25.
