The African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO) is planning its 7th General Assembly (GA) from July 2-5, 2019 to be organized in Tunis (Tunisia). The General Assembly is an important occasion for exchange on ANBO's institutional life and provides a unique opportunity for members to evaluate progress made with regard to the objectives set for the network and identify possibilities for improvement.
From May to July 2018, CWP Benin has done capacity building activities for the users of the artesian boreholes of Mono and Couffo on the introduction to accountability in the management of those boreholes in the framework of the Multi Year Program IV.
In a long-anticipated event, the UN’s High Level Political Forum (HLPF) met in New York in July, to review progress on the Sustainable Development Goals, including, for the first time, the one dedicated to water, SDG 6. A GWP delegation was present, communicating key messages from its global network of 3,000-plus partners.
GWP Cameroon, in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental and Development Studies in Cameroon (CEDC), organised a training workshop in Maroua on 13 February for ten women leaders from two communities (Meri and Mokolo) affected by fluorosis. The training was focused on how to use fluoride removal filters and was the result of a project on how to improve WASH services.
