The Global Water Partnership (GWP), in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC), with technical inputs from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), is organising a Project Preparation Workshop for Latin America and the Caribbean on the Development of Climate Resilience Water Project Concepts. In preparation for the 9th edition of the World Water Forum, to be held in Dakar, Senegal in 2021, the Kick-Off Meeting (Preparatory Process) was held on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 June 2019 in Dakar by the Government of Senegal and the World Water Council. The activity was launched by the Minister of Water and Sanitation of Senegal, Mr. Serigne Mbaye Thiam and the President of the World Water Council, Mr. Loïc Fauchon.

The SDG 6 IWRM (Integrated Water Resources Management) Support Programme assists governments in designing and implementing country-led responses to SDG indicator 6.5.1, the degree of implementation of IWRM, as an entry point to accelerate progress towards the achievement of water-related SDGs and other development goals, in line with their national priorities.
The 2nd International River Summit 2019 is a global event organised every three years by the collaborative efforts of River water user Association (India)-IRDRA and International River Basin Foundation-WCPI, for action on sustainable development for water security, climate change, agriculture and food security. It will be held 28-30 November in Prayagraj, India.
