On 9 October 2018, Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) together with partners from DriDanube project held Consultations on the Principles on Investments and Financing for Water-related Disaster Risk Reduction at the Romanian National Meteorological Administration in Bucharest, Romania.
The Global Water Partnership (GWP) in collaboration with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and with support from the IDB, will hold a Regional Workshop on “Transformational Climate Resilience Water Project Concepts in Latin America and the Caribbean for the Green Climate Fund.”
The HLPW was co-convened in 2016 by the UN Secretary-General and the World Bank President to provide the leadership required to tackle one of the world’s most pressing challenges – an ever growing water crisis. The Panel identified ways in which the world could accelerate progress towards ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all (SDG 6).
GWP-C in collaboration with Caribbean WaterNet/CapNet UNDP will host a national capacity building workshop in St. Kitts on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Caribbean – Drought Risk Management. The workshop is scheduled to take place from June 5th - 7th, 2019.

World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2nd February to raise global awareness about the value of wetlands for humanity and the planet. It also marks
the date of adoption of the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar. "Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future" is the theme for World Wetlands Day 2018.
GWP Annual Report Files consist of the annual monitoring summary on: progress markers, logframe indicators, implementation of planned activities and self-assessment on progress around critical GWP functions. By wrapping up the annual performance, all RWPs are requested to draft out the the planned set of activities to be implemented in next year. The work plan files consist of context and workplan summary, detailed workplan and budget.
The GWP-N has appointed a new Technical Secretary and desk officer in the person of Miss Amadi Chioma Ebelechi who resumed duty on the 11th of March 2019. All documents of GWP-N were handed over to her for safe keeping and proper running of the secretariat. She takes over Engr. Peter Suleh.
Celebrating the World Water Day in CACENA region has started before its date. Many events were held by GWP CACENA partners to raise awareness on water related problems.
