Vientiane, 24 October 2018 -- The Mekong River Commission (MRC), Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP SEA), and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) successfully organized a regional shared vision and collaborative modelling workshop for the Mekong River Basin. The Global Water Partnership Mediterranean is seeking to hire a company to develop the Flood Insurance Project in the framework of the GEF Project “Enabling Transboundary Cooperation and Integrated Water Resources Management in the Extended Drin River Basin”.

After the information meetings with elected representatives and communal actors from the project sites in Benin and Togo as well as with the associations of young farmers eligible for the initiative in Burkina Faso, the project will be launched on the ground at the community level in Benin and Togo in August and in Burkina Faso in September.

The Global Water Partnership invites interested individuals to submit their applications to be an AIP Reference Group expert member. A total of ten experts will be selected for this reference group. Five positions will be reserved for experts from the African regions (Central, Eastern, North, Southern and West).

In December 2018, GWP China regional royal partner governments—Pearl River Water Resources Commission (Pearl River Commission) & Taihu Basin Authority of Ministry of Water Resources of China (Taihu Authority)—invited youth associations, local communities, NGOs, media and schools to the thematic campaign “Mina Guli on 100 Marathons” in Guangdong Province and Shanghai municipal respectively.
