The GWP network used the 8th World Water Forum, the world's largest water-related event, to demonstrate the impact of its multi-stakeholder partnership on improving the way the world manages its water resources. GWP was involved in over 40 events during the week and many network Partners were present, as well as representatives of the global office and the GWP regions.
GWP/WA in collaboration with its partners IUCN, VBA, Eau Vive Internationale and IRC has started coaching young professionals through its regional programme for the employability of young people in jobs related to water security and climate resilience, which is implemented through the Integrated Drought Management Project in West Africa (IDMP-WA), #TonFuturTonClimat initiative, the Nexus & Food and Nutritional Security Programme and the Water Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP).
The NCWR programme has positively impacted the lives of 65,000 people in the Maltese Islands by collecting and reusing more than 17 million litres of water on an annual basis.
GWP-C and the Caribbean WaterNet/CapNet UNDP will hold a national workshop on Capacity Building for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in the Caribbean – Drought Risk Management. The workshop is scheduled to take place in St. Vincent from May 29th – 31st, 2019.
