The Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor as the new GWP-C Coordinator, effective May 1st, 2025. Dr. Graham-Victor- a Grenadian, is an accomplished environmental specialist, with a wealth of expertise in marine and water resource management. She holds a PhD in Maritime Affairs, with her research focusing on marine debris management in the Eastern Caribbean, as well as a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs specializing in invasive species and their impact on marine ecosystems.
19 November is World Toilet Day – a day that raises awareness of the 3.5 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation. This year’s theme ‘accelerating change’ reminds us that we need to act faster to ensure water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) for all.
Before the International Children's Day, twenty teams of 13-19-year-old young people convened in Ningbo of Zhejiang Province to share their inventions with experts and the public and to realize their innovative solutions to improve water and environment in and around their schools at the 2024 Junior Water Prize (JWP) Final.

As a leading authority on water governance, GWP continued to put water at the centre of development at the UN 2023 Water Conference by participating in and leading over 30 events, committing pledges to the Water Action Agenda, and launching a sourcebook on managing multistakeholder partnerships to improve the global management of water resources. On 26-27 November 2024, Bratislava welcomed youth leaders, water management experts, and key stakeholders for the DANUrely Roundtable: Empowering the Next Generation in Water Management. Hosted at the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMU), this two-day event united participants from across the Danube region to explore innovative solutions for water challenges and foster collaboration between generations.
The African Union Development Agency-NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) and Global Water Partnership Africa have renewed their partnership to transform water investments in Africa.
2023 is a critical reporting year on the SDGs, when countries will detail their progress on water management, a process that will be supported by GWP and the SDG 6 IWRM Support Programme.
