Final communiqué of the regional kick-off workshop of the" Programme on Advancing Dialogue and Investment for Food Security – in Water - Energy – Food - Ecosystems Nexus in West Africa” from 11 to 13 December in Bamako, Mali.
The GWP Latin American International Water Law Training Programme held a successful VIII edition of a regional workshop with focus on La Plata Basin on 26-29 September. It was attended by 23 participants from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, Paraguay, and Uruguay, most of them from public institutions.
Related to the GCF, the workshop will focus on building capacity of, strengthening collaboration among, and sharing lessons across the GCF National Designated Authority (NDA), Direct Access Entities (DAEs) and potential DAEs, and water ministries or national water agencies within a country, and across country. Coordination among these national level mechanisms for successful preparation and participation in the workshop will serve as a useful example of similar cross-institutional coordination required to access other climate funds.
The Chair, Regional Coordinator, the IDMP project officer and Communications Manager of GWP West Africa took part in to the GWP Regional Days meetings in Stockholm from 8 to 13 May 2016.

Global Water Partnership Africa Coordination Unit (GWP-CU) was the lead trainer for the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) regional training workshop on mainstreaming Climate Change Adaptation into water resources in Seoul, Korea.
GWP has created the SDG Preparedness Facility (SDG-PF) to deepen and streamline efforts at country level to implement the SDGs. Building on the country-level consultations from Stage 2, the 3-year projects use SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) to achieve SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
