The Mono River Basin Authority (MBA) is convening the third meeting of the Regional Steering Committee (RSC) of the RIWE-Mono Project on 29–30 October 2025 at the Novela Star Hotel in Lomé, Togo. Bangkok, Thailand | December 09, 2025 - The inaugural Pan-Asia Training on International Water Law (IWL) brought together more than a hundred experts, government officials, and water practitioners from across Asia for a week-long training held from 8 - 11 December 2025. Hosted in Bangkok, Thailand, the programme aimed to strengthen knowledge, legal capacity, and cooperation frameworks for managing shared water resources.
Over 80 participants representing African Union Member States and Regional Economic Communities (RECs) have been trained in tracking and reporting water investments using the AIP-PIDA Water Investment Scorecard, a key tool under the African Union’s Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP).
Online, Southeast Asia | November 4, 2025 - The Global Water Partnership Southeast Asia (GWP-SEA) convened water leaders, practitioners, and partners from across the region for a virtual regional learning exchange on Policy to Practice: Regional Actions on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) also marked a milestone moment: the Regional Launch of the GWP Global Transformation Agenda 2026–2030, signalling stronger commitment to water governance, climate resilience, and long-term investment in the region.
In Mid-July, 2025, GWP China, in collaboration with its local partner, the Hydrological Survey and Research Center of Hebei Province, has been making preparations for the establishment of the Groundwater Committee of Global Water Partnership China in Hebei Province. The Hydrological Survey and Research Center of Hebei Province will serve as the host institute for the Committee.
In 2017 and 2020, the SDG 6.5.1 Survey Reporting was conducted, and a post-Survey Assessment of the results was carried out in 2021. One of the challenges in IWRM implementation identified through the assessment was the lack of IWRM understanding among various government stakeholders, as well as the private sector.
