The GWP Technical Committee consists of up to 12 internationally recognised professionals selected for their experience in different disciplines relating to integrated water resources management. The Committee Chair is Dr Mohamed Ait-Kadi of Morocco.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between GWP China and WWF China for a five-year cooperation framework on January 23, 2011, Beijing.
Total fresh water resources of the country including waters of the Danube River are estimated at 107,226.10 cubic kilometres (long-term annual average), which constitutes 14.1 thousand m3 per capita.

World Water Day 2012 was celebrated on 22nd March under the theme of "Water and Food Security: The World is Thirsty Because We are Hungry". Water, the vital source of life, is a cross-cutting resource, water an essential component in building sustainable energy, food and health systems – sustainable livelihoods; yet water lacks recognition among the development sectors and policy makers; it is impossible to reach our vision of a water secure world if we continue to manage water in the future the same way as we do today; we need to stop the fragmentation of its management we need to act now for water for the future: these were some of the points raised at the roundtable the Global Water Partnership organised together with Stockholm International Water Institute at the Swedish Government Stockholm+40 conference on 23-25 April 2012.

On July 26-27, 2010, GWP China Shaanxi organized the Dialogue on Groundwater Development and Utilization.
The China Office of UKDFID organized a Roundtable Meeting on Sustainable Development on October 26, 2010 in Beijing.
In May, GWP Cambodia launched a report on river basin management in Asia together with the Asia Development Bank (ADB) and the Cambodia National Mekong Committee, outlining results from a 4-year programme, including an investment roadmap for water and related development. The report, which will serve as a case study for the application of IWRM in Cambodia, is available in Khmer or English and can be ordered on the GWP Cambodia website.
