The SADC Multi-Stakeholder Water Dialogue is an event organised by the SADC Directorate of Infrastructure and Services, Water Division to provide a forum for practitioners in the region to have a dialogue with water using and water influencing sectors. The underlying objective is to ensure that the interventions in the water sector are well communicated to the non-water sector actors and also create an environment to receive inputs from them. GWP Nigeria organized a General Assembly of Partners on February 2nd, 2017 and among the activities was the election of a new chair for the partnership. Dr Hassan Bdliya has served two terms in office from 2010 to 2016. After a rigorous process of selection, the country partners nominated and elected Mr. Moses Beckley as the new chair.

The GWP CAf and the UNESCO Regional Multisectoral Office for Central Africa, in collaboration with ECCAS, organized from 8 to 10 November 2017, a capacity-building workshop on IWRM and climate resilience in the context of transboundary catchment basins, in the case of transboundary catchment basins.
Jointly organised by the Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) and the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR), the competition encourages children to have a closer look at their local rivers and reflect on what the environment means to them. Children from all schools, NGOs, day care centres or associations for children in the Danube Basin are invited to create a piece of art and take part in the Danube Art Master competition, which has united thousands of children from across the Danube River Basin since 2004.
