With technical support from the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), the governments of Mozambique and Zimbabwe have developed a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save (BUPUSA) River Basins. Upon finalization, the TDA is expected to inform the priorities for unlocking investments for reduction in environmental degradation, reduction in poverty, improved water quality, green and grey infrastructure development, flood control, and improved water governance of the BUPUSA Basins.
The Government of the Republic of South Africa, in collaboration with the African Union Commission, the Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP), the AU-AIP High-Level Panel on Water Investments for Africa, and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), will host the AU-AIP Africa Water Investment Summit from 13 to 15 August 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, Western Cape.
UNCCD COP16 is set to be the largest conference in the Convention's history, with high expectations for impactful outcomes, particularly in addressing drought. The Global Water Partnership Caribbean (GWP-C) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Roxanne Graham-Victor as the new GWP-C Coordinator, effective May 1st, 2025. Dr. Graham-Victor- a Grenadian, is an accomplished environmental specialist, with a wealth of expertise in marine and water resource management. She holds a PhD in Maritime Affairs, with her research focusing on marine debris management in the Eastern Caribbean, as well as a Master’s degree in Marine Affairs specializing in invasive species and their impact on marine ecosystems.
