The Global Water Partnership among the organizing stakeholders

The Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources at the United Nations University, and the Technical University of Dresden, along with the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development, are organizing the Dresden Nexus Conference between 25-27 March 2015, in Dresden, Germany.

The Summer University of Samothraki 2016 took place on 9 - 22 July 2016 on the island of Samothraki in Greece. The summer university consisted of two parallel courses: Course A on “Aquatic and Social Ecology-Theory and Practice” and Course B on “Integrated Water and Coastal Management - Educational and Participatory Approaches”.

Coinciding with the meeting of the GWP Steering Committee (SC), a High Level Roundtable on Water Security and the SDGs was held in Yangon, Myanmar on May 24, 2016.

PRESS RELEASE BY THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF MALTA

The below papers are proceedings papers from a workshop on the linkages between water and land in the emerging geopolitics of food. It was held in Pretoria 15 – 16 June 2015 by the International Land Coalition (ILC), Global Water Partnership (GWP) and International Water Management Institute (IWMI). 

In honour of World Water Day, representatives of The Office of the President of Malta, the Energy and Water Agency of Malta, and the Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med), signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the rehabilitation of a rainwater harvesting reservoir at San Anton Palace, in the framework of Alter Aqua programme. The ceremony took place at the Presidential palace in Attard, right by San Anton Gardens where the water reservoir is located, in the presence of the Alter Aqua partners. These include General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd representing Coca-Cola in Malta, as the programme has been financially supported by The Coca-Cola Foundation since 2011.

The consultation workshop in West Africa on the strategy of the African Network of Basin Organizations (ANBO) was held on 21 and 22 July 2014 in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). It brought together representatives of Transboundary water management organizations, regional institutions, civil society in the region and the government of Burkina Faso.
