Water Agenda Consultations in Costa Rica

Costa Rica has made significant progress in the past decade in expanding access to water supply and sanitation, but the sector still faces challenges in low sanitation connections, poor service quality, and low cost recovery. GWP Costa Rica is organizing workshops as part of a consultation process to be carried out from November 2012 through January 2013 for the elaboration of the Water Agenda 2013-2030.

To stimulate new thinking to improve Sri Lanka’s natural resources management, the first Young Water Professionals Symposium for the country was organized by GWP Sri Lanka in association with IWMI and Unilever on 22-23 November in Colombo with the participation of the Hon Minister of Water Supply and Drainage Dinesh Gunawardene and Prof Mohan Munasinghe, Nobel Peace Prize winner 2007 (IPCC), and over 150 participants.

UK Water Security Programme awards £9m to Global Water Partnership

GWP will receive £9 million in funding from the UK's Department for International Development, through to 2015. The UK’s Water Security Programme was announced at the climate change negotiations in Doha at COP 18 by the UK Secretary of State, Edward Davey, on Tuesday, December 4, 2012.
