17 June is the UN World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought, also called Desertification and Drought Day (DDD). To mark the day, UNCCD, EOTEC DevNet, and GWP are co-organising a webinar on 18 June focused on showcasing collaborative approaches to tackling drought challenges. This webinar entitled, "United for Earth: Collaborative Strategies Against Drought” represents a crucial step in our collective efforts to combat land degradation and enhance resilience in drought-affected regions.

This conference, marking the 11th anniversary of the launch of IDMP by GWP and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), served as a critical milestone in the global conversation on drought and water scarcity. Chengdu, China | 15–23 May 2025 — Against rising global concern over climate-induced infrastructure challenges, the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) held its 93rd General Assembly and 26th Congress was held. The event gathered over a thousand global experts, policymakers, engineers, and practitioners to examine the future of water infrastructure in an increasingly unpredictable world.
The stakeholders in the implementation of the project "Real-time mapping of flood risk in Mali based on rainfall forecasts, remote sensing and deep learning" met on 06 February 2025 to validate the report on the outcome of the mission to map the risk/impact of flooding and implement hydrological models in the commune of Koula in the Koulikoro district of Mali. The meeting brought together stakeholders from Mali in the conference room of the National Directorate of Hydraulics (DNH), as well as regional and GWP-AO experts online.

The 2nd Stakeholder Consultation for an Integrated Management Plan (IMP) of the Damour area in Lebanon brought together key stakeholders from 27–29 October in Beirut, followed by a MedProgramme outreach workshop on 30 October. Led by GWP-Med, the IMP promotes holistic, source-to-sea water management, linking land, river, delta, coast, and marine ecosystems to support sustainable development and effective implementation of national policies.
