The Global Water Partnership (GWP) has sponsorship available for eligible participants to complete the online course in "Integrated and Adaptive Water Resources Planning, Management and Governance" offered by McGill University’s Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
GWP Vice Chair and member of the Steering Committee, Drs. Alice Bouman-Dentener participated in the High-Level Symposium on SDG 6 and Targets in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 9-11 August.
From 19 to 20 March 2015, the Country Water Partnership of Benin organized a national workshop on the ownership of the guidelines for the development of large hydraulic infrastructures in West Africa.
This workshop follows the regional one held on 17 and 18 November 2014 in Lomé, Togo. About thirty stakeholders involved in the process of conducting water works namely the public structures, NGOs, consumers, municipalities, research institutions, etc. took part in the meeting.
In the 6th Africa Water Week, the largest biennial water event in Africa, held in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, on July 18-22, 2016, GWP-Med shared its experience on mobilising Non Conventional Water Resources (NCWR) as a measure to augment water availability in urban environment.
As part of the efforts to strengthen the management of the Ghana Country Water Partnership secretariat to develop a strong presence in the water sector, a reference center has been created at the secretariat.
The Summer University of Samothraki 2016 took place on 9 - 22 July 2016 on the island of Samothraki in Greece. The summer university consisted of two parallel courses: Course A on “Aquatic and Social Ecology-Theory and Practice” and Course B on “Integrated Water and Coastal Management - Educational and Participatory Approaches”.
The regional Youth Parliament for Water and Sanitation of the Ouémé/ Pateau Central held a training workshop from 14 to 16 April 2016 on the topic « Youth of Oueme, protect your resource ». About fifty young people took part in the training including students, young water professionals, teachers, environment manager, economists, youth in the health and paramedical sector, socilogists, etc.
On 26 March 2015, the Burundi CWP held its ordinary statutory general assembly meeting in Bujumbura to discuss several issues icluding review of progress towards activity achievement for the year 2014 and strategy for the implementation of Bu CWP’s Action Plan for the year 2015.
GWP-Med, announces a Call for Interest for Greywater Technologies available in the Mediterranean countries within the framework of the "Climate Change Adaptation through Non-Conventional Water Resources Management in North Mediterranean" (a.k.a. Alter Aqua).
