GWP-Med and Coca-Cola in Greece launch new water resources protection program “Zero Drop” in the Municipality of Tanagra, Greece, with the support of The Coca-Cola Foundation
The Regional Partners Technical Workshop for the preparation of the Initial Concept Note of the Regional Investment Project for Water Security and Climate Resilience in West Africa (AIP - ECOWAS) for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) was held from 17 to 20 September 2024 in Ouagadougou.
Representatives from Lebanese ministries joined a field visit to Nexus related projects in the Shouf region in Lebanon, aiming to address trade-offs across different sectors and generate socioeconomic and environmental advantages, organised by GWP-Med within the framework of the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme.

In a bit to strengthen climate resilience and secure sustainable access to water, the Kingdom of Eswatini held a high-level Capacity Needs Assessment Workshop on 9 May 2025. Organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Environmental Affairs (NDA) and the Ministry of Natural Resources & Energy -Department of Water Affairs, with technical support from Joint River Basin Authorities Project Board and the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa as a delivery partner, the event was part of the African Union’s efforts in supporting Member States in developing Climate-Resilient Water Investment Programmes.
With technical support from the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), the governments of Mozambique and Zimbabwe have developed a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save (BUPUSA) River Basins. Upon finalization, the TDA is expected to inform the priorities for unlocking investments for reduction in environmental degradation, reduction in poverty, improved water quality, green and grey infrastructure development, flood control, and improved water governance of the BUPUSA Basins.
The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and the Global Water Partnership (GWP) West Africa have implemented the VFDM project entitled "Integrating flood and drought management and early warning for climate change adaptation in the Volta Basin" from June 2019 to June 2024. This project is financed by the Adaptation Fund.
