CWP Niger and ARSEau work together to improve collaboration

A delegation from Niger's Country Water Partnership ((CWP) led by its Chair, Dr. Nazoumou YAHAYA, accompanied by Mr. Sani Ayouba, CWP Treasurer, was received this Thursday, February 1, 2024 by the Director General of the Water Sector Regulatory Authority (ARSEau), Mr. Almoustapha Garba. Almoustapha Garba, accompanied by Mr. Arzaké Ibrahim Abdoulaye, Head of the Technical Facilities Department, and Dr. Ibrahim Diolombi MAHAMADOU, Head of Communication and Public Relations Unit of ARSEau.

Water valuation and resilient development, stakeholders from West Africa and the Sahel consolidate the DREVE initiative

The States and regional organisations of West Africa and the Sahel region met virtually on 5 December 2024 to discuss the sustainable management of water resources in West Africa, with a particular focus on the regional initiative for the development, resilience and valorisation of water for West Africa (DREVE) and its various pillars. Participants discussed the challenges and opportunities related to climate risk management, project financing, capacity building and the preservation of the Fouta Djallon Mountains.

Desenvolvimento do Programa de Ação Estratégico para a Tri-bacia do Buzi, Pungwe e Save (BUPUSA), para desbloquear investimentos transfronteiriços.

Moçambique e o Zimbabué estão a enfrentar corajosamente a escalada dos desafios sociais, económicos e ambientais nas bacias hidrográficas do Buzi, Pungwe e Save. Em 2023, os dois governos lançaram a Comissão dos Cursos de Água do Buzi, Pungwe e Save (BUPUSACOM) ao abrigo de acordos de cooperação alinhados com o Protocolo Revisto da SADC sobre o Curso de Águas Partilhadas de 2000, para liderar uma resposta unida aos desafios que foram intensificados pelas alterações climáticas e pela má gestão dos recursos.
