El Salvador: Development of community participation in the microbasin La Poza (#343)

La Poza micro-basin is experiencing severe environmental degradation, mainly due to unsustainable deforestation practices executed to expand agricultural land. To combat the issues, action was taken to implement IWRM. Throughout the implementation, there has been a high level of community participation facilitated by extensive capacity building and training in environmental management. The primary lesson drawn from this example is the crucial importance of community participation for a successful implementation.

Page names and short-cuts

Google, and other search engines use URLs, allong with the page title and the words you use on a page to determine what the content is about. People use URLs to rememebr where a page was, but they need them simply written, so we make sure that URLs are readable, relevant and if they are too long we can also set up a short-cut.

Building Water Security and Climate Change Resilience in the Caribbean

At the 8th Annual High Level Session (HLS) of Caribbean Water Ministers, convened by the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) and its partner the Caribbean Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA) in October 2012, nine Caribbean Ministers including two Deputy Prime Ministers present at the Session, recommended that GWP-C and its partners develop a Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean.

Post 2015 National Consultations on Water

The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWP SA) partnered with UNDP to follow up with a set of national dialogues on water. The water dialogues form part of the 11 thematic consultations now underway by the United Nations (UN) in preparation for developing Sustainable Development Goals (SD) in 2015.
