Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan have successfully completed their national assessments for the Asian Water Development Outlook (AWDO) 2025, contributing to a thematic chapter that explores the continental-level relationship between water security and Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM).
Chad is the first African country to join the Water Convention in 2018. Aware that a large part of its water resources is shared, its accession to this convention will enable the country to better manage the resource in a concerted manner which adequately meets the growing needs of the population in a context where water security is increasingly threatened by climate change.

The Pungwe River Basin originates in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe and flows through Mozambique into the Indian Ocean. About 5 % of the basin area is in Zimbabwe, with the remainder in Mozambique. However, about 28% of basin flows are generated on the Zimbabwean side. The basin is rich in plant and animal diversity, which is constantly under threat from anthropogenic activities.
