Indonesia, 10 November 2025 — The Department of Geophysics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), hosted a webinar titled “Jejak Peradaban Nusantara” or translated as “Traces of Nusantara Civilization” to explore the origins and legacy of Indonesia’s civilization. The event aimed to introduce the nation’s rich and genuine cultural heritage and inspire further study and adaptation of ancient wisdom for today's and future generations.
Angola and Namibia have officially launched the technical process for developing a Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA), Strategic Action Plan (SAP), and National Action Plans (NAP) for the Cuvelai and Kunene River Basins. The process is being undertaken under the "Enhanced Water Security and Community Resilience in the Adjacent Cuvelai and Kunene Transboundary River Basins (CUVKUN)" project, which is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and led by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as the GEF Implementing Agency. The Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA) is the Executing Agency, while the Cuvelai Commission (CUVECOM) and Kunene Permanent Joint Technical Committee (PJTC) are the focal custodians of the project implementation.

A comprehensive analysis of the Çorrush Reservoir and its surrounding systems undertaken under the GEF UNEP/MAP MedProgramme by GWP-Med delivers a clear, bankable package of interventions for decision-makers, project developers, and financiers, organized across five priority areas: reservoir and dam optimization, irrigation and drainage rehabilitation, climate-smart agriculture and water efficiency, renewable energy integration, and sustainable tourism development.
Beginning on 8 September 2025, Nepal witnessed widespread protests and demonstrations, primarily organised by Gen Z students and youth. The Continental Africa Water Investment Programme (AIP) continues to inspire large-scale water-investment efforts across the world. Following calls from world leaders, including H.E. Ban Ki-moon, 8th UN Secretary-General, and H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, to replicate Africa’s proven model in other regions, momentum is now building for the USD 20 billion Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Water Investment Programme, set for launch in 2026.
