Mali, establishment of the National Coordination of Users of Natural Resources in the Volta Basin

On 26 June 2026, Mali established the first National Coordination of Users of Natural Resources in the Volta Basin. National conferences are to be held in each of the six countries of the Volta Basin with a view to establishing a representative, structured and recognised National Coordination of Natural Resource Users through the validation of co-opted organisations, the adoption of constitutive texts, the work plan and capacity building, and the initiation of official recognition procedures with the administrative authorities.

GWP China Groundwater Working Committee Carries Out Specialized Research in the Laiyuan Spring Basin

Recently, to fully implement the Central Governmental Thought on Ecological Civilization and advance the ecological conservation and restoration of the Laiyuan Spring Basin, a joint research team, with the technical support of the GWP China Groundwater Working Committee and led by Wang Feng'an, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the Committee, conducted a specialized field investigation in Laiyuan County of Baoding City. The team was composed of experts in hydrology, geological exploration, ecological environment and other related fields, as well as the secretariat staff of the Committee.
