The "Zero Drop" water resources protection program, implemented by Global Water Partnership - Mediterranean (GWP-Med) in collaboration with the Municipality of Heraklion, with funding from The Coca-Cola Foundation and Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company, 'travels' to Heraklion, Crete and saves 14.5 million liters of water annually by improving irrigation water supply systems at five locations.
The World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), the Volta Basin Authority (VBA) and the Global Water Partnership (GWP) West Africa have implemented the VFDM project entitled "Integrating flood and drought management and early warning for climate change adaptation in the Volta Basin" from June 2019 to June 2024. This project is financed by the Adaptation Fund.
Chad is the first African country to join the Water Convention in 2018. The 10th World Water Forum “Water for Shared Prosperity” Kick-Off Meeting facilitated several discussions on six topics of water management through thematic and regional processes at the Jakarta Convention Center. As the host for the 10th World Water Forum that will be held in Bali on 18-24 May 2024, the Government of Indonesia facilitated the first kick-off meeting (stakeholders consultation meeting) on 15-16 February 2023, attended by policymakers, academics, practitioners, and associations operating in and related to the water sector.
