The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) extends congratulations to our esteemed host institution, the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF) in Grenada, on the momentous occasion of its 30th anniversary.
The updating of the Communication Strategy together with the Action Plan 2018-2020 of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA), has been integrated into the Implementation Plan of the Project "Reversing the Trends of Ecosystem and Water Resources Degradation in the Volta Basin (REWarD - Volta River Basin)", financed by the GEF and executed by the VBA and GWP-WA in close collaboration with UNEP and IUCN.
The governments of Mozambique and Zimbabwe have recorded remarkable progress in building resilience against climate shocks, including floods and drought in the Buzi, Pungwe, and Save River Basins (BUPUSA), shared exclusively by the two countries.

A new initiative exclusively funded by the Coca-Cola Foundation and implemented by GWP-Med is expected to save an estimated 5 million waters annually for the Municipality of Aglantzia in Cyprus through the use of recycled water and smart technology for green spaces irrigation.
During the 2nd Pinios Pilot Technical Workshop organised in the framework of the Horizon 2020 REXUS project, whereby GWP-Med is leading the Communication Work Package, local media featured interviews and articles by the projects partners and highlighted the participatory process of designing a sustainable future for the basin.
Four concept notes that would ultimately be developed into full proposals were chosen during the second round of screening of the South Asia Youth Water Challenge 2023, which was held on 28 June 2023.
At the AU – AIP Africa Water Investment Summit 2025, held in Cape Town, South Africa, from 13 – 15 August 2025, H.E. Retno Marsudi, United Nations Special Envoy on Water, delivered a powerful address affirming her commitment to advancing Africa’s water agenda.
