GWP Latvia and its partner non-governmental organization Daugavas Savieniba publish a new guideline for practical management of rivers and water streams.
GWP Regional coordinator participated in the Strategic dialogue of the Nile Basin Initiative, Kampala, Uganda, which was held on the 16th, 17th and 18th of November 2011.
GWP Slovakia launched a new study on possibilities of alternative waste water collection and treatment in Eastern Slovakia.
16,000 children from 14 Danube countries expressed how they felt about their river in this basin-wide contest.
“Water is life, but water can also be a threat to life”. This was said by the Permanent Secretary in the former Ministry of Water Resources Development and Management (MWRDM) in a keynote speech read on his behalf at a Catchment and Sub-catchment consultation and action planning workshop. He further highlighted that water resources in Zimbabwe need to be treated with extreme care due to increased scarcity being brought about by the adverse effects of climate change.
GWP knowledge and expertise was shared with an IUCN-Asia delegation that visited the Nile Basin Initiative Secretariat in Entebbe, Uganda, on 12 September 2011. GWP Eastern Africa presented its work on IWRM processes.
