Fund raising is a continuous activity at national and regional levels that emphasizes technical and financial support from partners in the implementation of the IDMP activities.
Following a period of unusual heavy monsoon precipitation that started in mid-July and continue into August 2015, Myanmar experienced the most severe flooding in decades. The rainfall is associated with the south-west Monsoon, which occurs each year, but the situation got worse after the land fall of Cyclone Komen in Bangladesh on 30th July 2015 which brought strong winds and additional heavy rain to (north) Myanmar.
A team of GWP-WA and CWP Burkina PNE had on June 11, 2015 a visit to assess the level of implementation of work on the site of the WACDEP demonstration project in Burkina Faso. This project involves the drip irrigation techniques for the efficient management of agricultural water for the benefit of vulnerable populations in the municipality of Loumbila in the center of the country.
Since the last visit in April 2015 there has been plowing work, the installation of some drip irrigation and water pumping equipment with solar energy, among others.
GWP and its partners, the African Union Commission (AUC) and African Ministers’ Council on Water (AMCOW), hosted a High Level Panel on Water and Climate Change in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Paris on 2 December.
GWP Cameroon held a training workshop in Kribi on 29 July to 2 August. The aim was to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to develop a balanced portfolio of investment options that enhance water security for climate resilient growth and development.
At the end of last year, the GWP network consisted of 13 Regional Water Partnerships, 84 Country Water Partnerships, and 2,904 Partners located in 172 countries. The Annual Report for 2013 is now completed and available online.

After the validation of roadmaps and the signing of different agreements, the month of June was marked by the start of the investigations by young people from Benin, Burkina Faso and Togo. These actions are carried out with the financial support of GIZ for Benin and financial support of GWP / WA for Burkina Faso and Togo.
