Working through the Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWP SA), the Zambian Country Water Partnership will be undertaking the UN Water Consultation for Zambia on the 5^th March 2014 at Cresta Golf View Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia. The consultation will be undertaken in view of GWPSA’s efforts to support its 12 Country Water Partnerships and build on the Global Network’s value to add to global processes supporting sustainable development through better water resource management.  

The Competition "Best Ideas for Water Security under Global Climate Change" was held among students from various institutes of higher education in Uzbekistan. Its aim was to awake a care of water as an essential part of human livelihood across the globe among the young people.

The Global Water Partnership – Mediterranean (GWP-Med) will have a strong presence at the 7th World Water Forum in Daegu and Gyeongju, in South Korea, on April 12-17, 2015.

International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) launched its new project “Mega-cities and their Watersheds: Nature-based Solutions for Sustainable Drinking Water Sources” on November 26, 2013 in Beijing.

GWP Armenia and GWP Turkmenistan have conducted several projects focused on schools. The purpose is to engage more young people in water resources management.

The online registration and the call for papers and proposals for the 5^th Africa Water Week is now open. The deadline for papers and proposals is March 22^nd 2014. The 5^th Africa Water Week will be held in Dakar, Senegal from 26^th to 31^st of May 2014. Overall theme: Placing Water at the Heart of the Post 2015 Development Agenda!

In Marocco, rapid urbanisation has led to increased demands for quality and quantity of water resources. To meet the challenges posed by the growing water scarcity, Morocco has adopted an integrated approach to water resources management through mutually reinforcing policy and institutional reforms, including the adoption of a long term IWRM strategy. The key lesson is the importance of introducing economic incentives to water management. 

GWP's Executive Secretary, Dr. Ania Grobicki spoke during the official opening of the 6th “WACDEP Technical Coordination Workshop” held from the 15th -19th September 2014 at Meikles Hotel, Harare, Zimbabwe. The workshop was hosted by the Zimbabwe Country Water Partnership (ZCWP), under the patronage of Global Water Partnership Southern Africa (GWPSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate, Zimbabwe.

Dr. Natalie Boodram, Programme Manager of the GWP-C Water, Climate and Development Programme (WACDEP) for the Caribbean, will be presenting two specialist lectures at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad on April 3^rd and 7^th, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. - 8:50 a.m.
