Call for Nominations and Applications

The GWP seeks an outstanding and internationally recognized leader to serve as its Chair, guiding the global Network of water partners, and heading the GWP Organization. Given the scale of water-related challenges across the globe, the Chair has a unique opportunity to lead the GWP at an important time, as action now is essential for a water secure world.

In partnership with the Council for Caribbean Science and Technology (CCST), Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) received a grant from the Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund (PGTTF) to finance a Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) project for the Caribbean.

GWP Slovakia launched a new study on possibilities of alternative waste water collection and treatment in Eastern Slovakia.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) sought to assess the effectiveness of its training manual on Water Use Efficiency (WUE) in the Tourism Industry and Hotel Sector by hosting a WUE workshop in Antigua on November 29^th - 30^th, 2011. To assist in carrying out the WUE workshop in the Tourism sector, GWP-C contracted the Environment Tourism Consulting Limited (ETC).

In its efforts to continue building capacity for improved water management in the region, Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) together with its partner, the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) hosted a workshop entitled ‘Water Use Efficiency in the Agriculture Sector’ on November 1^st - 3^rd, 2011 at the University of the West Indies (UWI) Centre in St. Kitts.

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) had the opportunity to share information on rainwater harvesting and water conservation with hundreds of students at the Preysal Community Science Week held in Trinidad on November 7^th - 12^th, 2011.

GWP Benin was established a little over ten years ago. In recent years, it has been credited with helping to steer the new Water Law through parliament (2010), promote acceptance of the Water Policy (2009), and campaign for the national IWRM Plan among the country's water stakeholders (2011).

The Workshop on Monitoring and Assessment Method for River and Lake Health was organized by GWP China on January 13, 2012, in Beijing.

The GWP Technical Committee consists of up to 12 internationally recognised professionals selected for their experience in different disciplines relating to integrated water resources management. The Committee Chair is Dr Mohamed Ait-Kadi of Morocco.

József Gayer is the new Chair of the Global Water Partnership Hungary it was announced on 10 January 2012.
