GWP CEE has taken part in many international projects supporting the efforts for a water secure world within as well as outside of the Central and Eastern Europe. Below are our currently ongoing projects. Feel free to also explore our past projects by selecting any from the list on the left side.

On March 8th, 2015, the Global Water Partnership (GWP) which comprises of thirteen (13) Regional Water Partnerships including the Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) will celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD) by advocating for a #watergoal, which would mean major improvements in living conditions for women worldwide. The first dam on the Lower Mekong River Mainstream, Xayaburi was notified to the Lower Mekong Countries in 2010. The public consultations took place in each country. The result favoured the construction to be postponed for 10 years to allow further study.

On March 3, 2015, the Workshop on Stories to Watch 2015 was held in Tsinghua University in Beijing which was jointly organized by the World Resources Institute (WRI) China and the Institute for Contemporary China Studies at Tsinghua University. Mr. Rugang  Zheng, the Coordinator of GWP China was invited to attend the workshop.

Qingdao city, with more than 5 million inhabitants, suffers from an acute water shortage. Its water resources are unevenly distributed, both temporally and spatially. Qingdao’s urban water system also faces an inevitable rise in energy intensity and carbon emissions.

The last training session carried out within the framework of the implementation of capacity building program on water security and climate resilience by GWP Cameroon from 25^th to 26^th of February 2015 aimed at  equipping participants with skills and knowledge on mainstreaming water security and climate resilience in their day to day functions for climate resilient development. Read more
