The annual training course of liaison officers who are responsible for foreign affairs, and overseas visits, organized by the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resources, was taken place on August 18 and 19, 2010, Hefei, the capital city of Anhui Province.

Integrated management of groundwater resources is a challenge of particular importance in the region, especially in the arid lands. A 3-days Training Course on Groundwater Assessment and Development is organized from 13 to 15 December 2006, in Hurghada, Egypt, by CEDARE, GWP-Med, UNDP and the Eastern Desert Project.

The partners of the water sector in West Africa agreed to establish among themselves, the GlobalWater Partnership of West Africa, in English "GWP / West Africa" and whose official abbreviation is "GWP / WA", and GWP West Africa, "GWP AO" in French. GWP-WA is the regional branch of the Global Water Partnership (GWP)
GWP India is supporting the Society for the Promotion of Waste Lands Development who, with key partners the Sach-Sach Society and Shramik Bharti, is undertaking a dialogue with community-based organisations across the Ganga River on the need to engage meaningfully with the National Ganga River Basin Authority and the Indian Institute of Technology consortium.
To raise awareness on sustainable water management in the Caribbean, and to commemorate the United Nations’ World Water Day (WWD) 2012 which is celebrated on March 22nd each year, GWP-C has established its first Media Awards on Water. The Awards aim to inspire Caribbean journalists to report more on regional water issues.
Central America is one of the regions most vulnerable to climate change, so recognising that water is essential to adaptation is crucial to national and regional strategies. To this end, GWP Central America has contributed to the water component in the Action Plan of the Regional Strategy for Climate Change (ERCC) and organised a regional workshop on water and climate change.
GWP Pakistan collaborated on a National Workshop on Pakistan’s Preparations for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Islamabad on 12-13 September 2011. GWP Pakistan held a side event to promote IWRM and water saving/recycling and environmental conservation measures at ground level. The workshop was organized by the Sustainable Development Policy Institute, UN One and the Rio+20 Secretariat.
In 2011, GWP Nicaragua was asked by Autoridad Nacional del Agua, the national water authority, to help prepare a guide to be used as the basis of all basin management plans implemented in the country.
