IWD 2023: Meet the women behind Cameroon’s Climate and Weather Information System

GWP-Central Africa joins the international community to celebrate the 2023 International Women’s Day commemorated under the theme, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”. This year’s theme seeks to recognize and celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education. Bridging Waters, Building Resilience: Southeast Asia's Voice at International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) 2025

Chengdu, China | 15–23 May 2025 — Against rising global concern over climate-induced infrastructure challenges, the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) held its 93rd General Assembly and 26th Congress was held. The event gathered over a thousand global experts, policymakers, engineers, and practitioners to examine the future of water infrastructure in an increasingly unpredictable world.

Global Water Leadership in a Changing Climate Programme in Nepal

Funded by the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the GWL in a Changing Climate programme was launched in October 2021 in Nepal with the view of accelerating climate-resilient systemic change at the scale and pace required and to help the country to build back better as they emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Global Water Partnership (GWP) with its strong presence in Nepal partnered with FCDO and mobilised the required political leadership that is key to catalyse uptake of such strategies by keeping integrated water resources management (IWRM) intact. The GWL in a Changing Climate Programme in Nepal marked its closure on 29 March 2024. The Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation officially unveiled the Response Strategy for Water Resources Management for Nepal on the day.

Implementing the Convention and promoting integrated water resources management through national and regional actions

On the occasion of the 10th Meeting of the Parties (MOP 10) to the Water Convention from 23 to 25 October 2024 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-WA), the West African Economic and Monetary Union Commission (WAEMU), the Pôle Eau Dakar, Secretariat of the Water Convention and the United Nations Environment Programme - DHI Centre (UNEP-DHI), FAO co-organised a side event on the theme of ‘Implementing the Convention and promoting integrated water resources management through national and regional action’.
