La Asociación Mundial para el Agua (GWP) anuncia el nombramiento de la Dr. Ania Grobicki como la Secretaria Ejecutiva de GWP, efectivo a partir del 11 de marzo del 2009.
The Global Water Partnership participated in the UNFCCC climate change talks in Bonn, Germany, 1-11 June 2010 continuing its advocacy for placing water management at the heart of the adaptation agenda.
GWP Eastern Africa promoted the participation of Sudan Water Partnership national coordinator and member into a Young Water Professionals conference on the 11th, 12th and 13th of December in Kampala, Uganda, an event that was organized by International Water Association/African Water Association /National Water Sewage Corporation of Uganda conference.

GWP China Hebei organized the Forum on Water Security & Economic Development in Coastal Areas on 19-21 May, in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
The Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12, 2008 in Sichuan Province affected a large area and population in the province and the neighboring provinces particularly the Shaanxi and Gansu provinces, and it also jeopardized the water supply facilities, particularly, in rural areas. The reconstruction of the rural water facilities is one of key projects of Chinese government.
The Lake Chad basin, located in Northern Central Africa, covers almost 8% of the continent and spreads over seven countries. It is shared among the countries of Algeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic (CAR), Chad, Libya, Niger, Nigeria, Sudan, Algeria and Libya.
