The Round Table “Consultations on Improving Water Resources Management aiming to Water Security in Uzbekistan for 2014-2020” was held on 12 March 2014 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The African Water Information System (AWIS) is a network of African organizations that aim to establish a platform to share information and knowledge a wide audience . A pilot followed by an expansion phase of this system was carried out from March 2007 to March 2010.

The Global Water Partnership (GWP) announced the launch of its new 2014-2019 global strategy today.

For GWP, inclusiveness and gender sensitivity has always been a core value. GWP supports the Dublin Principle that women play a central role in providing, managing, and safeguarding water resources. The growing interconnectedness of gender, water, and sustainable development demand that we do more to ensure greater gender equity in all our efforts to properly safeguard and manage water resources for future generations.

GWP is at the forefront of helping countries to prepare and take full ownership of their plans for integrating water resources and services. Our support moves beyond planning and into practice.

Key stakeholders from within and outside Jordan’s water sector were brought together in Amman on the 5th of February in the framework of the Jordanian Policy Dialogue within the joint GWP-Med and OECD, UfM labelled Governance & Financing for the Mediterranean Water Sector Programme.

The Zambian Government and numerous stakeholders have attached great importance to the water agenda as evidenced in its participation in the SDG Consultation on Water held on 5^th March 2014 at Cresta Golfview Hotel, Lusaka, Zambia.

“Although water is central to development, its value is often overlooked. It is thus essential that this national consultation helps to ensure that water is properly reflected in any post-2015 agenda. Moreover water is tied to most development themes – such as food, health, energy. So it is essential to recognize the obvious linkages with these other thematic consultations”
