The Eritrean Country Water Partnership has played an important role in the planning process of the Eritrean IWRM plan, which started at the end of 2005.

The GWP submitted its pledge to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

World Water Day 2012 was celebrated on 22nd March under the theme of "Water and Food Security: The World is Thirsty Because We are Hungry". A host of activities was organised by the Country Water Partnerships of GWP South Asia to mark this day. More details of the events carried out by each Country Water Partnership are given below

Global Water Partnership-Caribbean (GWP-C) together with representatives from the Projects Unit of the National Institute of Higher Education Research, Science and Technology (NIHERST) had the opportunity to meet with two (2) Women’s Groups in rural Trinidad on October 21^st, 2011, to discuss a future renewable energy project to benefit their communities.

GWP Southern Africa is actively involved with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Water Division and other Partners in preparations for the 5th SADC Multi-stakeholder Water Dialogue which will be held in Swaziland in June 2011.

Despite its recent economic progress, Mozambique remains one of the lowest income countries in the world. Majority of the Mozambicans 80% live in rural areas where agriculture and livestock are of central importance to their livelihoods. 

This paper (805,77KB) emphasizes that the provision of environmentally sound systems in an integrated way, taking into account the whole water cycle of water supply, wastewater, solid waste collection, treatment and reuse, is the best way forward to addressing this critical challenge.

This policy brief makes the case for an integrated approach that encompasses the whole water cycle– municipal and industrial wastewater and storm drainage. It outlines the economic, policy and institutional aspects and provides guidance on policies and institutions needed to support water reuse. Policy briefs provide policy makers with information on water resources management. They are written by the GWP Technical Committee, a group of internationally recognised professionals in integrated water resources management.
